ANIMALS IN CANADA

Most animals in the Artic are white. This serves as camuflage in the snow.


The polar bears are the biggest bears in the world. They weigh 300 and 650 kilos. They eat plants in summer and in winter they eat artic hares, artic foxes and harp seals. They can swim long distances, they're very good swimmers. They live for about 25 years.


The artic hares  live in groups or 100 to 300 animals. Hares hop at 64km. They eat, lichens, mosses, seaweed, bark, roots... and even the meat from hunters traps.


The harp seals are marine mamals. Baby harp seals have a white coat for 10 to 14 days. Their enemies are the artic fox, polar bears and man, who hunts them for their coats. They live for about 30 years.


Caribou , in Canada there are 2.4 milion Caribous.They eat plants. The artic foxes, wolwes and bears are their enemies. Males and females grow new antlers every year. This animal belong to the reinder.


The artic fox eat, caribou, hares,birds and the birds eggs. The polar bear and man are their enemies. They hunt them for their coats.


The snowy owl is an official bird in Canada. They are active all day and night. Snowy owl eat hares, mices, an birds. In Canada the temperature is -50ยบ C, and the snowy owl survives at this temperature.
