NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand (Aotearoa in Maori) is one of the most isolated countries in the world. Is located in the southern pacific. The country is situated some 1500km east of Australia. During it´s long isolation New Zealand developed distinctive fauna dominated by bird, may of which became exiting after the arrival of humans introduced mammals.


New Zealand capital city is Wellington, but for example Auckland is an important city. The official languages are Maori (4,2%), NZ Sig Language (0,6%), but National Language is English (94%). The population of New Zealand is 4.414.400 (2011)


Mountain Ruapehu
New Zealand is made for two island, north island and south island. New Zealand is long over 1600km. The north island is less mountainous but is marced by volcanis. The north island highest mountain is mont Ruapehu 2797m. 




The New Zealand climate was mild, with warm in summer and cool-wet in winter.

Maori
The New Zealand culture is Maori. History was passed on orally to succesing generations. Greenstone (Jade) carving is an example of Maori art.


The New Zealand animal is kiwi.It´s in bird. At around the size of domestic chicken and lay the lagest egg.
